9. Communication

Stay connected with buyers, sellers, and clients through messages and notifications.


9.1 Messages

The messaging system enables direct B2B communication between fabricators on the platform.

Access: Tap the Messages icon in the bottom navigation bar.

Message List

  • Conversations are listed with the most recent at the top.
  • Each conversation shows:
  • Company name and avatar
  • Last message preview
  • Timestamp
  • Unread message indicator (badge)
  • Linked piece (if the conversation started from a marketplace listing)

9.2 Starting a Conversation

From a Marketplace Listing

  1. Open a piece's detail page.
  2. Tap Contact Seller.
  3. A new conversation is created, linked to the piece.
  4. Type your message and send.

From the Messages Screen

  1. Go to Messages.
  2. Tap New Message (+ icon).
  3. Search for a company or user.
  4. Start the conversation.

Conversation Features

Feature Description
Text Messages Standard text communication
Piece Reference Linked piece card shows at the top for context
Timestamps Each message shows when it was sent
Read Receipts See when your message was read
Company Info Tap the header to view the other company's profile

9.3 Push Notifications

Stay informed with real-time push notifications on your device.

Notification Types

Category Examples
Messages New message received, message from a buyer
Marketplace Someone favorited your piece, new inquiry
Projects Project status updated, quote approved (Pro)
Billing Invoice viewed, payment received (Pro)
Calendar Upcoming event reminder (Pro)
System Account updates, subscription changes, app updates

Enabling Push Notifications

  1. When prompted on first launch, tap Allow to enable notifications.
  2. If you previously denied, go to your device's Settings > Remnant Finder > Notifications and enable them.

9.4 In-App Notifications

View all notifications within the app:

  1. Tap the bell icon in the top navigation bar.
  2. Browse your notification history.
  3. Tap a notification to navigate to the related content.
  4. Unread notifications show a dot indicator.

Notification Center

The notification center groups notifications by: - Today - This Week - Earlier

Swipe left on a notification to mark it as read or dismiss it.


9.5 Notification Settings

Customize which notifications you receive:

  1. Go to Settings > Notifications.
  2. Toggle on/off by category:

  1. Set Quiet Hours to pause notifications during off-hours.
